Hi I’m Carmen… The salon owner.. I’ve been hairdressing a very long time!
I first found my passion for hairdressing when I was at school.. I started working at a friends salon in Tamworth, where I grew up.. I used to go to the model nights at the salon when I was still at school, so by the time I left school I could already carry out a lot of services…My passion just grew and grew.. I attended Tamworth college one day a week and gained my NVQ 1 and 2.. Once I qualified i then went to work at a salon where I really found my feet, I gained a lot of colour experience and attended training courses in colour. This is where my passion is.
I made the big move to Birmingham then, to further my career even more.. I worked at a world renowned company for over 10 yr’s, I attended many courses, but the best was when I had the opportunity to train with Vidal Sassoon’s training academy.. They are true craftsmen..I learnt so much from them.
I opened Kai Ko’s in 2008, and have never looked back.. I truly love my job so much.. Its such a pleasure to look after all my old and new lovely clients.. Every day is so different , and I LOVE IT…I have built up a great team over the years, had a few hiccups but it wouldn’t be business if that never happened.. It just makes you a stronger person.. I can handle any situation good or bad. My true passion to this day is still colouring. I LOVE MY JOB so much and will always go the extra mile for clients.
In 2011 Kai Ko’s was the salon that did the hair of all the finalists for Miss Universe GB.. This was a great experience for all the team.. We had a great day, and even got the chance to watch after all our hard work was finished.
Outside of the salon, I have a great partner and daughter, who keeps me on my toes..I enjoy the finer things in life.. I love shopping, holidays and eating at lovely restaurants. But best of all I love fitness.. an obsession I think! Most of my spare time is spent either in a gym or shopping.
Hi! My name is Ross.
My career began back in 2012 where I studied my Hairdressing NVQ Levels 2 & 3. Shortly after qualifying there, I began my employment at Kai Ko’s. Over the years I have honed some advanced skills with the Wella Studios in Manchester. I have now been working at Kai Ko’s for almost 3 years and couldn’t be happier… my clients are fantastic!
I love creating natural colour combinations and of course, I could never say no to the odd high-fashion colour. Just as long as my clients are smiling, I am too. That’s what makes my job so worth it!
At home, I read a lot and would rather stay indoors or go somewhere quiet where there isn’t a rave or huge crowds. But surprisingly, the buzzing salon atmosphere suits me down to a T. I wouldn’t change a thing about where I am and neither do my clients when they’re in my chair!
My name is Ellis, but I prefer Ellie or Ell.
My passion for hairdressing grew from a young age. I love the thrill of making people feel good and making them look good. I have already done my Level One Hair & Beauty.
Hopefully, in the future, I would have like to have bettered myself and hopefully have my own business once I am a qualified hairdresser.
